Our Story
Edgewater Bible Church was a church plant in the Edgewater area. We began with a few families meeting in a home in June 2014. God has since blessed our church in many ways and we hope to use those blessings to reach the ultimate need in our community, namely to tell them about Jesus Christ. There is a great need throughout Edgewater to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and this has served as the the catalyst for beginning a new church in the area. We don't know where God will lead us in the future but we know that if He is in it, we will do great things.
We Exist to...
"Get People to Jesus"
Jesus taught us the true meaning of love in the scriptures. Jesus is the perfect picture of love. The Bible also teaches that Jesus Christ is the one solution to the foundation of every problem that exists in the world. For that reason, our church exists to get people to Jesus. We hope that people know the love of Jesus and accept the solution to the world's problems. We hope to do this through building up our church, reaching out to our community, and seeking to study and obey the Word of God.
New and Old
When we began meeting in a home, we had no idea what God had in store for us. We truly were depending on God because there was no where else to turn. When we outgrew the home where we were meeting, we needed a place to meet. A local church named Woodland Beach Community Church graciously opened their building to our group on Sunday evenings. Little did we know that God would do more through that relationship. Through prayer and seeking God's wisdom, both leadership groups felt that God was working to bring us together to serve the community as one congregation. The result of God's work is that as one church, Edgewater Bible Church is united in the mission to live out the Word of God in Edgewater Maryland.
