The Gospel & then Baptism
It's always good to start with God.
God is real and He really loves you.
God created a world that was very good.
But then we (humans) messed it up by doing what we wanted instead of what He wanted.
As a result, sin flooded into our world.
Sin is the wrong that we do.
Like any wrong, justice says that sin needs to be punished.
So... we sin and because of our sin, we deserve to be punished
But remember, God still loves us even though we sin against Him.
In His love, He made a way for us to get rid of sin and its deserved punishment.
Jesus died on the cross.
Basically, on the cross, Jesus paid the price for our crimes. He went to the electric chair to be killed so we didn't have to.
Jesus offers us this gift. To be rescued from sin.
The question for us is simple...Will we accept His offer of salvation?
Romans 10:9 teaches us that...If we believe in Jesus, that God raised Him from the dead, and we agree to follow Him as our Lord forever, then we will be saved.
If we are saved, then sin is removed from our lives over time. When we are done with this life, we will be able to rejoin God in a place we call heaven. Heaven is the good place that God intended for us from the start.
